Mariposa, 2023

Mariposa is a pattern designed by Tula Pink. My interpretation of the pattern and use of butterflies in many of my quilts and professional works (such as the Butterfly on Biology for Life) is to represent metamorphosis, change, and hope. A “butterfly baby” is als a term used to represent babies who have passed. Many of my quilts incorporate butterflies as silent memorials to the babies I miscarried. This quilt is dedicated to the memory of my babies gone too soon.
